My name is Jonathan Broom (usually referred to and addressed as Jonny). I could liken the first 20 years or so of my career to a game of pinball; but at the age of around 40 I discovered what I was good at, and what I enjoyed most: putting words together in a cohesive, compelling way. One way or another I’ve been doing it ever since.

I am as comfortable writing pithy ad copy as I am press releases; as proud of a punchy headline as of a long-form think-piece.

I always keep in mind, though, that my words are there to do a job: to engage, and to persuade readers that what they’re reading about merits further attention.

I also write for pleasure – as an ever-growing canon of barely-started novels will attest.
